Lights, Camera, Action!
Starting at 6:00 PM on May 21st, the Tabernacle was closed to all visitors, excluding the LVC group, and we began setting up for our organ recital. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity because no other group in history has ever been allowed to have the amount of practice time we recieved during the day. Furthermore, they permitted us to shut down the entire building and perform a recital. Their hospitality and kindness towards our group was unbelievable. Dr. Elliott had to leave for his wife's birthday party, but he sent along two special vistors: Linda Margetts, and her husband Bert. Linda is currently a Temple Square Organist for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Her duties include recitals on the Mormon Tabernacle Organ, accompanying the Temple Square Chorale, and performing in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's weekly international television broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word. Bert and Linda helped us in any way they could and even accompanied us to dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory later in the evening. Once the camera was set we began to play! The Program is listed below, followed by videos which qualify as public domain.
